Is there a pair of black pants under that cat? Doesn't matter where they are--they could be hanging 6 feet off the floor--the cat will find a way to lay on them.

Ain't that the truth. I have nice cat beds lined up in my bedroom. One day I found one of my boys laying on the pillow I discarded on the floor beside them. I think if I would lie in the cat bed, they would see that I want it, and then would decide that's where they'd like to lie. :)

For sure. I used to have a cat with "some" white hair, which, of course, always clung to my black clothes. Now the new cat who lives with me is mostly white and I have no black clothes (they are all covered with her hair).

I get very cold at night so I tend to have a lot of blankets and pillows on my bed. You'd think a cat would find this comfy...if I put ANY article of clothing on the bad...my cats will lay on it. I have always wondered what goes through their heads when deciding on a place to sleep.

There's more of your scent on the clothes than on the bedding. ;-)
And more of theirs as well from all the rubbing up against you, jumping up on you to get petted and all the other cute things they do.

I have a cat that finds a new "bed" every couple of weeks or so. First, it was on the floor between my bed and the wall (near the hot air vent). Then it was right next to the couch, where I put my feet. She stayed right there, even though she almost got stepped on more than once. LOL! One time, she claimed the duffel bag my boyfriend went on a trip with. She just layed on top of the closed (but still full) bag. My boyfriend didn't have the heart to empty the bag, so he waited it out... It was 10 days before she moved on. LOL! They can be crazy and unpredictable, but you gotta love 'em!

my cat always comes to my bed at night, but she doesnt just sleep on the edge, she sleeps on my pillow! slowly but surely she steals my pilllow away from me and i end up sleeping curled up on the edge of the bed while she lays like a beached whale on my pillow with a smug look on her face. I dont know why, but I still love her :)

This happends to me alot. I make a special bed for my cat yet she prefers to sleep somewhere else. Getting them to sleep where you want them to sleep is a pain.

We have the same problem, I too cant get my cat to sleep it the cat bed or any thing that I made for him which he could sleep in much more comfortably. He would always sleep anywhere he wants, be it on the floor, bed, comfort room or outside. I cant get him to sleep on one place.

When my lady, Snickers, feels I have been up to late, 2-3am, she comes into the living room and paws at me until I get up and go to bed. Snickers then crawls all over me until I give her kitty treats, she then drinks from my bedside glass of iced water, finally she settles down next to my head. I put my arm around her and we fall off to sleep. Do you think she has me trained?
